Women have been an integral part of the cigar scene for quite a while now. We reported on the International Women\u2019s Cigar Society (IWCS)<\/a> in depth in our 1\/2015 issue<\/a>, as well as in the article Passionadas Characterize the Cigar Scene<\/a>, where also the first IWCS survey results can be found.<\/p>\n

In issue 4\/2015 <\/a>we have more stories about women contributing to the cigar industry. Read about Meera Levin<\/strong> of the family company Ashton, Sarah Saunders<\/strong> from the Women\u2019s International Cigar Club in Great Britain, and Annette Meisl<\/strong>, who organizes cigar culture events (p. 136).<\/p>\n

One year ago, the IWCS conducted a survey of 500 women on their preferences, tendencies and approach to cigars. We\u2019re now releasing the third part of the results.<\/p>\n

The Main Survey Results:<\/h3>\n

90%<\/strong>
\nof the women introduced their friends to cigar smoking.<\/p>\n

69%<\/strong>
\nof interviewed passionadas like to enjoy a cigaralong with a fine drop.<\/p>\n

90%<\/strong>
\nindicate that they don\u2019t care with whom they enjoy a cigar. Only 4% prefer to smoke in the company of other women; 6% rather smoke with men.<\/p>\n

86%<\/strong>
\nprefer to indulge in fine smoking during the evening.<\/p>\n

71%<\/strong>
\nfeel comfortable smoking in the presence of their families (parents as well as children).<\/p>\n

39%<\/strong>
\nstate that they purchase cigars ranging from EUR 8.00 to 10.00 (USD 9.00 to 11.00), while 30% will pay between EUR 6.00 and 8.00 (USD 7.00 to 9.00). 11% are willing to pay more than EUR 10.00 (USD 11.00).<\/p>\n

32%<\/strong>
\nof women admitted to calling themselves cigar smokers only six months after having enjoyed a cigar for the first time. 21% were immediately smitten with fine smoking after their very first cigar.<\/p>\n

90%<\/strong>
\nstand behind their hobby even outside of the cigar community \u2013 they talk openly about it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
