In a market that was full of fakes cigars until few years ago it is clear to see the change in profile of the new shops specially in the cities of Cartagena, Medellín and Bogotá, the country’s capital.

This change of mentality was due to an hard effort done by the Habanos distributor in the country, Caribe Imports, and by the profile of the owners of the new smoking spots in Colombia.

One of these figures is David Monroe that recently opened a new Habanos Specialist at Bogotá. David is not new in the business, he was the co-founder of another cigar shop a few years back that was the first shop to receive the Habanos Specialist seal in Colombia.

Last month David decided to move from its initial project to a new concept more in line with the Colombian new cigar scene. “It was time to change a little the concept and focus more on the experience we provide to the cigar smoker that is more knowledgeable and exigent in the country” says David Monroe, co-owner of The Cigar Humidor.

The new Habanos Specialist is located near two of the most important and fastest growing event centers in Bogotá, the Nemesio Camacho El Campín stadium and the Movistar Arena.
