On May 28th, Eladio D\u00edaz will turn 73 years old and, as every year since 2003, when he celebrated his 50th birthday, he has prepared a special blend dedicated to all cigar lovers: Eladio D\u00edaz 73rd Anniversary \u201cUnforgettable\u201d.<\/p>\n
This year, the cigar is made from eight different tobaccos, all from the Dominican Republic, as in the 72nd Anniversary blend, taking tobaccos from the north and the south of the country, the Cibao Valley, and San Juan de la Maguana.<\/p>\n
The Eladio D\u00edaz 73rd Anniversary \u201cUnforgettable\u201d features a Corojo Original wrapper from San Juan de la Maguana, with, for the first time, a double binder, Sumatra and Negrito, both leaves from the south. Inside, the filler consists of four fillers from the Cibao Valley, one Habano 2000 aged in barrels, Corojo 99, Corojo 2006, Piloto Cubano; and a fifth one, Criollo 98 from San Juan.<\/p>\n
In addition, this year\u2019s packaging is also different, because it comes in an 11-count box, something that is not very common in this industry: ten Toro Extra cigars 6 \u00bd x 54 (165 mm x 54) and one robusto in the middle, 5 x 50 (127 mm x 50).<\/p>\n
According to Eladio Diaz, it is a medium to full-bodied cigar that \u201creminds me of a handmade cigar a close friend of mine named Daniel Nu\u00f1ez gave me that was a 55-year-old pre-Castro cigar that left me completely impressed\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnforgettable\u201d is the fourth anniversary limited edition from Tabacalera D\u00edaz Cabrera.
