He assumes the chairmanship at a pivotal time for the association as it advances its advocacy, regulatory, and industry-support missions in Washington and across the country.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cJavier\u2019s leadership, vision, and steady hand have strengthened CAA and helped unite the industry through years of significant change,\u201d said Gallagher, Jr. \u201cI\u2019m honored to follow in his footsteps and look forward to working closely with our members as we continue protecting and promoting the interests of the entire cigar industry.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>During Estades\u2019 tenure, CAA advanced major federal and state advocacy efforts, deepened its engagement with policymakers, and strengthened its role as a leading national voice on tobacco issues. He will continue to serve as a valued member of the Board.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn behalf of the entire cigar industry, I want to express our deepest gratitude to Javier Estades for his extraordinary leadership, wisdom, and unwavering dedication over the past nine years,\u201d said CAA President Scott Pearce. \u201cJavier leaves the association stronger, more focused, and better positioned to protect and promote the cigar industry.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The CAA Board also elected the following officers for the coming term:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0Vice Chair: Eric Newman, J.C. Newman Cigar Company<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Treasurer: Carrie Freed, ITG Brands<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0Secretary: Henry Roemer, PT DJARUM<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cI am excited to work alongside this talented and experienced leadership team,\u201d added Gallagher, Jr. \u201cTogether, we will continue advocating for reasonable, cigar-specific regulation, defending the rights of adult consumers, and ensuring the rich heritage of premium cigars endures for future generations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Javier Estades commented, \u201cIt has been the privilege of a lifetime to serve as Chairman of the Cigar Association of America.
