EMT brings 142 years of production heritage and regulatory infrastructure. Luciano contributes U.S. market access, artisanal blending, farming, and innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cOur vision for Constella was never about simply becoming larger,\u201d explained Luciano Meirelles, President of Luciano Cigars and Co-founder of Constella.<br \/>\n\u201cWe set out to create something meaningful\u2014built on mutual respect and the belief that growth should enhance identity, not dilute it. This is about preserving our core values and shaping the future of premium cigars through collaboration and authenticity.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Jos\u00e9 Pedro Trindade, EMT Board Representative and Co-founder, added:<br \/>\n\u201cConstella represents unity through shared purpose. Each partner maintains its unique identity and legacy, contributing strength to a collective vision. It\u2019s a dynamic structure founded on connection, synergy, and respect for tradition.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Under Constella, Luciano brands will maintain their signature quality while introducing new premium lines. Existing agreements with Peter James Cigars and Dalay will continue, enriching the global cigar offering.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Constella&#8217;s strategic vision includes:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul class=\"ul1\">\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">A new factory and packing facility in Santiago, Dominican Republic (Free Trade Zone)<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">Expansion of F\u00e1brica de Tabacos Estrela in S\u00e3o Miguel, Azores<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"li1\"><span class=\"s1\">New cultivation initiatives in Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and the Azores<br \/>\n<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Since 2023, both partners have revitalized the 142-year-old Estrela factory and launched a pioneering cultivation project in the Azores, a region with centuries-old tobacco history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe renowned seeds such as Habano, Habano Criollo, and Corojo are not native Cuban tobaccos\u2014they\u2019re the product of selective breeding from seeds brought by Spanish colonizers from earlier expeditions,\u201d explains Duarte Manuel Freitas, Constella consultant and historian at the University of Coimbra.<br \/>\n\u201cThe Azores, positioned at the heart of transatlantic trade, likely served as the first true tobacco laboratory\u2014where ancient seeds from Asia, Australia, and the Americas were cross-pollinated before shaping the foundation of commercial tobacco.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">To mark this global alliance, Constella will launch \u00c9LEV\u00c9, a limited edition 6&#215;54 Sublime cigar, at PCA 2025. The blend, crafted from undisclosed global tobaccos, captures the essence of Constella\u2019s mission.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201c\u00c9LEV\u00c9 symbolizes the encounter of great traditions and creativity,\u201d said Renato Berardo, President of the EMT board and the Bacalh\u00f4a Group.<br \/>\n\u201cCenturies ago, the Azores helped shape global tobacco culture.
