Highclere Castle Senetjer was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the unearthing of Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun\u2019s tomb. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>King Tut\u2019s tomb was discovered by the famed archeologist Howard Carter and the 5th Earl of Carnarvon, great-grandfather to the current Earl and owner of Highclere Castle. \u201cKing Tutankhamun\u2019s tomb is one of the greatest archeological finds of human history,\u201d said Nicholas Melillo, owner and Master Blender of Foundation Cigars. \u201cDue to the great demand<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>for this fantastic blend, we have decided to release 500 boxes every November to honor the finding.\u201d<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Highclere Castle limited edition release was aptly named Senetjer, the ancient Egyptian word for incense, translating directly as \u201cof the gods,\u201d or \u201cto make holy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Senetjer<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>presentation box is a replica of the storage boxes discovered within Tutankhamun\u2019s tomb to bring his worldly treasures to the afterlife. The Scarab is an authentic replica of a pectoral necklace worn by the boy king and discovered in the tomb. The Scarab represents Tutankhamun\u2019s name. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo celebrate this amazing find, we have created the Senejter blend, which is a homage to the<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>cigars enjoyed by my family in the roaring twenties,\u201d states George Herbert, 8th Earl of Carnarvon. Like Lord Carnarvon today, the 5th Earl was an avid cigar connoisseur. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Highclere Castle Cigar co-founder Adam von Gootkinpartnered with famous Egyptian archaeologists Colleen &amp; John Darnell to advise on the project. &#8222;As a result, we have translated the Highclere Castle name into ancient hieroglyphics as presented on the box facing&#8220;. The hieroglyphs express the exact translation of Highclere Castle into 3,000-year-old Egyptian as follows: \u201cThe Great Estate; she who is high, she who is bright or clear.\u201d said Von Gootkin.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Highclere Castle Senetjer is a 6 3\u20444 by 52 ring gauge perfecto composed of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper with Brazilian Mata Fina binder and well aged undisclosed fillers, packaged in 12 count boxes with a suggested retail price of $33.00 per cigar. Foundation Cigar Company will only take pre-orders annually at the PCA trade show.
