With an investment of 15 million, the new factory will be dedicated exclusively to handmade cigars, with four manufacture \u201cgaleras\u201d, 1,000 rollers, a total number of more than 2,100 employees and its production capacity will exceed 40 million cigars per year and more than one million cigar boxes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The operation is framed in the purchase, started in 2020, of the former premium cigar division of Imperial Brands, concluding the process after the transfer of operations and the completion of the new facilities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fernando Dominguez, CEO of the Tabacalera Group, stated that &#8222;with the entry of Tabacalera de Garc\u00eda into the group, the factory is at the epicenter of the business due to its relevance, because the art of making cigars is the essence of the business and because it represents the most important group of people in the company\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The new industrial complex will retain the name of \u201cTabacalera de Garc\u00eda\u201d, one of the largest handmade cigars factories in the world, while the primitive facilities, still owned by Imperial Brands, will be dedicated to the production of machine made cigars and will operate under the name of \u201cImperial Tobacco la Romana\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tabacalera, heir of the old Spanish tobacco monopoly (created in 1636) is the leading business group in the premium cigars market worldwide. With operations in more than 150 countries through a powerful distribution network, Tabacalera has the most prestigious portfolio of brands in the sector, that includes all the well known Cuban brands \u2013 such as Cohiba, Montecristo, Partag\u00e1s and Romeo y Julieta \u2013 by participating 50% in Corporaci\u00f3n Habanos SA.
