It was no surprise that the Polish qualification round for the Cigar Smoking World Championship not only became one of the closest ones, but also featured some of this year\u2019s best performances over all. At the tables in Warsaw you had last year’s Polish champion, last year’s world championship runner-up, the 2019 world women’s champion and a former multiple Polish champion as well as world champion runner-up. After two hours of smoking, 5 out of 20 competitors were still in the race. One after one the cigars burnt out until there were two left. That\u2019s when it got really exciting.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the end 2019 world women\u2019s champion Elena Tronina won the competition at 2 hours 40 minutes and 40 seconds, but the runner-up Tomasz \u017bo\u0142\u0105dkiewicz was only 17 seconds away from victory,\u201d organizer Marcin Lewandowski says.<\/p>\n

Tronina\u2019s time is the third best in the world this season. Hence \u017bo\u0142\u0105dkiewicz is number four at 2 hours 40 minutes and 23 seconds.<\/p>\n
