The small town of Oneonta, Alabama was blessed with an explosion of big city cigar culture in October of 2021 when Matteo and Michelle Pensa opened the doors of Southern Smokes Cigar Lounge.\u00a0 The only place in town to go for a wonderful cigar, a cold beer and a stellar atmosphere infused with the good people of Northeast Alabama.\u00a0 A local citizen must be left to wonder how they ever got by without this place for so many years!<\/p>\n
An amazing standout feature of the lounge is the left wall as you walk in.\u00a0 Enormous rectangular bricks that are over 100 years old comprise the entire wall, sending the patron instantly into the heritage of the town while also kicking off the rest of the amazing decor of the lounge which was designed by Michelle and constructed by Matteo and his brother-in-law, Josh Gaddy.\u00a0 It all comes together to give the patrons a mellow, pleasing environment with which to enjoy your cigar with old and new friends.<\/p>\n
One of the beautiful aspects also of Southern Smokes is that the humidor is nearly all boutique brands of cigars.\u00a0 Matteo loves to bring in unique and hard to find brands.\u00a0 The incredibly spacious humidor has two long walls of cigars on either side as you enter that are filled with all of those brands that you\u2019ve been searching for but had trouble finding up until you reach the back wall which has the whole line of Perdomo, the largest brand there.<\/p>\n
