Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua will be expanding with the addition of a 60 x 5 \u00bd size this Spring. The new size, set to ship to retailers May 1, 2022, is appropriately named Espeso, the Spanish word for \u201cthick,\u201d which describes the wider ring gauge used in this soft-pressed 100 percent pure Nicaraguan blend \u2013 a blend created by AJ Fernandez and Rafael Nodal to pay tribute to the very first Montecristo cigar made in 1935.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Montecristo 1935 Anniversary Nicaragua blend works incredibly well in the new Espeso vitola,\u201d said Rafael Nodal, Head of Product Capability for Altadis U.S.A. \u201cThis is why AJ Fernandez\u00a0and I decided it had to be the first size extension in the line after in the No. 2 size. In my opinion the new vitola amplifies the flavors and complexity of the blend.\u201d<\/p>\n
