{"id":40368,"date":"2021-05-19T17:18:45","date_gmt":"2021-05-19T15:18:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.cigarjournal.com\/?p=40368"},"modified":"2021-05-19T17:18:45","modified_gmt":"2021-05-19T15:18:45","slug":"casa-cuevas-cigars-to-launch-patrimonio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.cigarjournal.com\/de\/casa-cuevas-cigars-to-launch-patrimonio\/","title":{"rendered":"Casa Cuevas Cigars to Launch Patrimonio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Casa Cuevas used the Tobacco Plus Expo as the launch pad for its newest addition, the Patrimonio cigar brand.\u00a0 Patrimonio is Spanish for Patrimony in English and it is dedicated to Luis Cuevas, Sr. and his predecessors dating back 100 years.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Juan Cuevas was a Spanish expatriot who began growing tobacco in Cuba in the mid-19<sup>th<\/sup> century.<\/p>\n<p>The brand is the brainchild of Luis Cuevas, Jr and his son Alec and while it was made at the Cuevas factory in Santiago, the pair hid it from Luis, Sr so it would be a surprise to him once completed.\u00a0 According to Luis Jr., \u201cPatrimonio is a project that is extremely near and dear to my son Alec and myself. When my father left Cuba, he left tobacco behind. Years later, after rebuilding in the U.S.A., he was able to revive our family tobacco history by opening his cigar factory in the Dominican Republic.
