The cigar, nicknamed \u201cHarimau Malaya\u201d the \u201cMalaysian Tiger\u201d, is the first regional edition for Malaysia and is a Montesco-sized robusto extra cigar measuring 5 1\/8 x 55 (130mm x 55).<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>San Cristobal de La Habana, a brand created in 1999 by Habanos S.A, is a tribute to the city of Havana. San Cristobal de La Habana was also the brand selected to commemorate the city\u2019s 500th Anniversary, in 2019.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Harimau Malaya, the first Malaysia Edition Cigar, is a vitola selected by Habanos S.A in 2020 for Habanos aficionados in Malaysia. The name \u201cHarimau Malaya\u201d was selected as it represents the national mascot of Malaysia.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img class=\"alignnone wp-image-39472 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cigarjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/10-HARIMAU-MALAYA-CIGAR-E.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"770\" height=\"577\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.cigarjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/10-HARIMAU-MALAYA-CIGAR-E.jpg 770w, https:\/\/www.cigarjournal.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/10-HARIMAU-MALAYA-CIGAR-E-500x375.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 770px) 100vw, 770px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The cigar bears the standard San Cristobal de la Habana band and features a second Exclusivo Malasia red and white regional edition band.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Hosts La Casa Del Habano Kuala Lumpur welcomed guests to launch venue Cohiba Atmosphere Kuala Lumpur for the event. Around Asia, cigar lovers were invited to attend the launch online by Zoom. Mr Dag Holmboe, CEO of Pacific Cigar Company addressed the event via Zoom from Hong Kong, while His Excellency Mr Fiorentino Batista, the newly appointed Cuban Ambassador to Malaysia, Serena Ong, Malaysia Country Manager for Pacific Cigar Co., and Jonathan Chow of Cohiba Atmosphere Kuala Lumpur also spoke at the event.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Presented in boxes of 10 sticks, this San Cristobal de La Habana Harimau Malaya is limited to only 8,888 boxes.
