Is this Key West?\u00a0 No, this is Gulfport, Florida.\u00a0 Located on the Southern tip of Pinellas County just South of St. Petersburg, Gulfport is a beautiful hidden gem of a town that you would never find unless someone dragged you there by the nose.\u00a0 An oasis of relaxation in the middle of the rat race, Downtown Gulfport really lets you enjoy the island beach life while still being smack dab in the middle of a metro area.\u00a0 After taking a nice walk down Beach Boulevard and enjoying some good food and drinks and maybe some shopping, one can stop by Gulfport Cigars and relax with a fine cigar and cap off a nice visit to this sanctuary of a town.<\/p>\n
Owner and gentleman, Mike Allgire is the man who brings it all together.\u00a0 He has a variety of cabinet humidors in the shop that offer everything from Fuente to Oliva and everything in between. There is special attention paid to boutique brands here as many of the brands are smaller companies to give the patron the opportunity to expand their repertoire of what they smoke.\u00a0 Coffee and soft drinks are available for purchase.\u00a0 Food can be ordered from the surrounding eateries and enjoyed on the premises.\u00a0 There are 2 televisions available for your sports viewing pleasure, however these tvs are not always on, which enhances conversation between customers and feeds the camaraderie of the lounge.<\/p>\n
There is a club membership as well.\u00a0 $150 gets you an annual membership.\u00a0 This includes a humidified locker in which one can store their cigars and it also includes a free cigar a month from Mike and maybe even more depending on what comes into the store.<\/p>\n
You can sit inside in one of the two sitting areas with very comfortable chairs and enjoy the AC in the summer, or like I did, you can sit outside on the patio which has Northern exposure and enjoy the shade on a cool Fall, Winter or Spring day and soak up the ambiance of Gulfport as you take time for yourself to relax.<\/p>\n
