In September of 2015, Nicholas Melillo released Foundation Cigar Company\u2019s debut offering: El G\u00fceg\u00fcense (el-way-when-say) or \u201cThe Wise Man.\u201d A 100% Nicaraguan Puro that celebrates the nation\u2019s land, people, and traditions, it takes its name from the cunning protagonist of the country\u2019s annual Festival of San Sebasti\u00e1n. Fans of the cigar treasure its smooth, balanced, and distinctively Nicaraguan flavor.
\n\u201cMoving to Estel\u00ed in 2003,\u201d says Melillo, \u201cmade a profound impact on my life. For my debut release I wanted to pay homage to Nicaragua\u2019s unique culture and it\u2019s rich and flavorful tobacco.\u201d<\/p>\n
To commemorate Foundation\u2019s 5-year anniversary, Melillo has blended and designed a limited edition 4 \u00be by 60 Perfecto in a one-of-a-kind collector\u2019s chest. The 20-count box, resembling
\nthe one held by The Wise Man during the festival\u2019s Great Dance, represents the hard-work,ingenuity, and deep cultural wealth of the Nicaraguan people.
\nThe special blend features an elegant Corojo 99 wrapper, a blend of high-quality fillers from Jalapa and Estel\u00ed, and is held together by a specially selected binder from San Andres Mexico.
