For Mina Herran, owner of Mina\u2019s Cigar Lounge, the venture didn\u2019t go as originally planned, which proved to be a blessing in disguise. In June 2017 Herran became the first African-American Female owner of a premium cigar brick and mortar in the city of Baltimore, MD.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt was overwhelming at first\u201d, says Herran. Two weeks after receiving her business license, she found herself making deals with manufacturers at the IPCPR 2017 in Las Vegas, NV. New to cigars at the time, Herran was able to navigate the chaotic pace of the tradeshow and secure product for her newly acquired shop. Not only does Herran post a picture of her new arrivals, but a true breakdown of the blends, their stories, and her opinions of them.\u00a0 According to Mina, Social Media is \u201ccritical\u201d to her marketing as it not only shows what\u2019s in stock, but also connects all of her patrons, manufactures, and those visiting from other states. \u201cFacebook is how many people find out about us. People will reach out and let me know that they\u2019re coming by just because they saw a post on Facebook featuring our shop!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With seating for approximately 20, a full-size projector and screen, and plenty of conversation and stories, Mina\u2019s Cigar Lounge is a considered to be a home away from home and a perfect getaway to enjoy quality, premium cigars.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve thought about expanding or getting a larger space, but I\u2019d always want to keep this location.
