Kafie 1901 was established five years ago with the name acknowledging the year the Kafie family arrived in Honduras from Lebanon. Kafie refers to his cigar business as \u201cgrowing backwards\u201d as the company has been investing in new buildings such as a recent box factory in Honduras, instead of attending trade shows.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like the people and the overall mood and feeling of InterTabac,\u201d said Kafie. \u201cThe European connoisseur market in general is very different to the USA. We\u2019re a traditional company and this market is interested in more than just the cigar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Kafie 1901\u2019s Don Fernando Maduro, a <a title=\"2018 Cigar Trophy Nominations\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cigarjournal.com\/2018-cigar-trophy-nominations\/\">finalist in the 2018 Cigar Trophy awards in the Best Value Honduras category<\/a>, makes Kafie realise he\u2019s not crazy to pursue his cigar dream.<\/p>\n<p>Besides the Don Fernando cigar line consisting of 3 cigars which honours his late father and made at the Puros Indios Aliados factory, Gaby Kafie\u2019s signature line features four versions while the San Jer\u00f3nimo line features tobacco from the San Jer\u00f3nimo Valley in Honduras.
