The start of 2018 will see a few new releases from Tatuaje Cigars. First one out are three new sizes in the RC series.<\/p>\n

\u201cRC no 1 is 4 \u00be x 52, RC no 2 is 5.5 x 54 and RC no 3 is 6.5 x 56,\u201d founder Pete Johnson says. \u201cThey all have pigtails and are medium to full body. They\u2019re not over the top strong, but they have a nice spice to it. It\u2019s more about the flavor than the strength.\u201d<\/p>\n

The RC series in itself isn\u2019t new. It has existed since 2015, but only in the US.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have two sizes in the US, both Giant Perfectos, old school Cuban style, called Salomones and Diademas. The name stands for retro Cuban and I use the same blend in these three.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new sizes, however, are for the international market only.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s already a lot of stuff in the US that you can\u2019t get in Europe for instance, so I figured it would be nice with something unique for the international market.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later this spring Johnson will come out with two more cigars, La Petit \u00c9glise and Clos L\u2019\u00c9glise.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re a bit more dramatic and they include pelo de oro tobacco grown by the Garc\u00eda family. Their bands are more embellished and regal looking.\u201d<\/p>\n

And why not, considering he\u2019s been working on them for five years.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was the pelo de oro that made it for me. I realized that\u2019s what was missing, and since there\u2019s a limit to how much the Garc\u00eda\u2019s grow, they\u2019re both going to be limited editions.\u201d<\/p>\n
