The CNT\u2019s new president is Anielka Esmeralda Ortez Flores, who will replace <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cigarjournal.com\/cigar-boom-in-nicaragua\/\">outgoing president Juan Ignacio Mart\u00ednez<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe CNT will continue promoting and enhancing the image, quality and reputation of Nicaraguan hand-made cigars and we will strengthen our linkage with the communities and local and national governments,\u201d she stated.<\/p>\n<p>Other board members include Juan Ignacio Mart\u00ednez (vice-president); Jos\u00e9 Leonel R\u00e1udez (alternate vice-president); H\u00e9ctor Vanegas Bojorque (secretary); and Eduardo Alberto Sandino (alternate secretary).<\/p>\n<p>Also elected were Manuel Ernesto Rubio, as treasurer; N\u00e9stor Andr\u00e9s Plasencia, as first member; Gast\u00f3n Buenaventura Rappaccioli, as alternate first member; Omar Ortez Rodr\u00edguez, as second member; Eldher Alexi Grater\u00f3n, as alternate second member; and Claudio Sgroi, as third member.<\/p>\n<p>The new board of directors will run the CNT during the period 2017-2019. New president Anielka Ortez is the general manager of Agrotabacos, the company that produces Omar Ortez cigars, and is the first woman to head up the CNT.<\/p>\n<p>The Nicaraguan Tobacco Chamber also announced that four new members are joining the organization: Tabacalera RC, El Gal\u00e1n, Global Premium Cigars\/1502 Cigars and Distribuidora Karibe S.A.
