Newman introduced their new blend Diamond Crown Black Diamond at the Tao Asian Bistro in Las Vegas on Monday, July 25, 2016.

“Four years ago the original idea was to create a spot light for the Diamond Crown Classic series Maduro,” said J.C. Newman President, Eric Newman. “We even tested it out at the IPCPR show and in the 2013 Toast Across America pack and received rave reviews – but we still weren’t satisfied. We believed that the Diamond Crown Black Diamond cigar deserved something new and different.”

The Newmans worked closely with Carlos Fuente, Sr. who recently passed away, and his son Carlos Fuente, Jr. on developing a new blend. Five year old aged filler tobaccos, exclusively grown for the line on a special four-acre section on the Fuente farm in the Dominican Republic alongside a Dominican binder and Connecticut Havana seed sun-grown wrapper now make up the blend of Diamond Crown Black Diamond. The cigars are rolled at Tabacalera A. Fuente in the Dominican Republic.

“After finalizing the blend we knew we needed exceptional packaging,” said Bobby Newman, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Black Diamond is a unique and contemporary complement to the Diamond Crown line and the branding needed to reflect that. We decided on a black lacquered humidor box protected by a satin lined felt bag adorned with the J.C. Newman crest. The sleek design stays true to Diamond Crown’s sophisticated reputation but with a slight edge.”

Black Diamond is limited in production and will only be available boxes of 20 cigars in Diamond Crown Cigar Lounges later this year in the U.S.A.

Diamond Crown Black Diamond

Factory: Tabacalera A.
