IXTELLI from Karen Berger

At the first look it seems to be a hard to pronounce name and it is the original and ancient name of Estelí, the Cigar capitol in Nicaragua. As Bruce Bush points out this is the very first puro – all Nicaraguan tobacco – made by Karen Berger, with a beautiful Criollo wrapper. According to Bruce you will find beautiful floral notes combined with green tea and a nice honey touch.

After Bruce Bush has created his “Tailgate” cigar it was now time for the “Halftime”. Not to mention that Bruce is a big American Football fan, he is already thinking of fulfilling a football Trilogy next year. The Halftime has a closed foot and a pigtail head. The 4×60 smoke was designed to last about 30 minutes but is shall easily last for 45 minutes. You will notice rich flavors from this Ecuadorian Maduro wrapper and Sumatra binder with filler tobacco from Estelí.

Peter’s love of cigars began in 2001, and since then his interest has continued to grow. Multiple trips to Nicaragua, Cuba and the Dominican Republic as well as attending numerous cigar festivals have increasingly fueled this passion. He finds being a member of the Cigar Journal blind tasting panel a great honor and pleasure. This all led to the opportunity to become an author on the Cigar Journal team.
